I love small town coffee shops and Coffee Bear is a cool two-story coffeehouse in Silverton, Colorado. They have the only rooftop deck in town. If you want to go where the locals go, this is the place locals go for coffee. While staying at the Wyman Hotel for a couple of days adventuring in Silverton, I went to Coffee Bear every morning. It’s in the same block as the Wyman.

My first morning in Silverton, I had a little time to sit and enjoy breakfast on the rooftop. I ordered an almond milk latte and veggie burrito. Coffee Bear’s burritos are a little unusual. They’re square. Up on the rooftop with the early morning chill, it was beautiful watching the sun come up over the mountains. I leisurely sipped a great almond milk latte and fueled up for the day with a delicious square veggie burrito. I even had the rooftop to myself for a bit!
I went to Coffee Bear every morning during my stay. If they have peanut butter bars, order one or a couple. They’re divine! I ordered one to enjoy after hiking a small portion of the Colorado Trail that near Silverton. The next morning they were out and I wished I’d order two the day before!
