The Coolest Hoodie – Fieldsheer Uses Cooling Technology

I’m a sweaty gal.  Always have been.  Growing up in the South I always heard girls glisten, not sweat.  But, I’ve always been the girl who sweats buckets.  Folks often say to me sweating means your body is ultra-efficient at getting rid of toxins.  Small consolation for always turning into a sweaty mess when the temperatures climbs above 80°F, rushing through an airport or when I’m working out or hiking.

On my recent trip to Greater Zion Utah, I tested out Fieldsheer’s hoodie  made with their mobile cooling technology.  As the ultimate sweaty girl, I’m the perfect person to put it through the ringer.  On our first morning of road trip, my friend Lisa and I hit the trail in Red Canyon, between Panguitch and Bryce Canyon National Park.  It was a little cool in the early morning and the hoodie was nice to have on as my long sleeve layer.  Even when it’s cool, I usually break a sweat pretty quickly, but not on this hike.  Lisa commented on me not being sweaty.

The cooling technology is supposed to lower your skin temperature by 7°F and dries 4x faster than traditional knits like cotton.  One hike down and I was already impressed, but it was early in the day.  The real test would come on our second and third hikes that day in full sun and during the hottest time of day.  I had layered the hoodie over one of Fieldsheer’s short sleeve shirts.  Both pieces performed above expectations at keeping me from sweating like crazy as we hiked in Losee Canyon then did a big hike on Navajo and Peek-a-boo trails in Bryce Canyon mid to late afternoon.

Not only is the hoodie great for keeping you cool, the Drirelease Geo Cool technology is moisture wicking, it’s made of recycled polyester and it has sun protection of UPF 50+.  Plus, they come in great blue and pink shades.  The hoodie also comes in white and an ocean pattern.  There’s also a tank available.  The prices are great with the shirt costing $34.99 and hoodie is $49.99.  Fieldsheer also makes cooling neckbands, towels and facemasks along with similar products for men.

I brought the hoodie and shirt to Mexico with me for two weeks and they’re getting a workout here too.  It’s pretty amazing the difference in wearing these two pieces compared to a regularly workout shirt from another brand.  I love the triple benefit of sunsheer, odorsheer and sweatsheer.  They’re super lightweight and pack well too.  These will be staples in my summer travels and adventures.  I’m hoping they make a cooling sports bra soon!
