When You Want Pie in Greater Zion – Go to Veyo Pies Near Snow Canyon State Park

During my trip to Greater Zion, a friend told me I had to try Veyo Pies and Bakery after visiting Snow Canyon State Park. It’s about a ten minute drive from the north entrance. After spending a few hours hiking and exploring Snow Canyon, my friend Lisa and I were ready to devour some pie. The small family-run bakery has been wowing hikers, cyclists, bikers and road trippers over 30 years. As we found out the proof is in the pie!

Admittedly Lisa and I were so hungry we were on the verge of getting “hangry,” which made us a little indecisive. They have an assortment of fruit, cream, specialty, and pot pies. While chatting with the friendly guy behind the counter, we ordered three slices then headed outside to sit at one of the picnic tables in the shade.  We got slices of sour cream lemon, volcano and mountain berry.

The volcano is their signature pie.  It’s a layered cream pie. Their famous graham cracker crust is topped with a chocolate sweet cream cheese, butterscotch, and whipped cream drizzled with butterscotch and chocolate on top. The sour cream lemon pie is a lemon pie topped with a sweetened sour cream meringue. My favorite was the mountain berry. It’s filled with blackberries, raspberries and blueberries and is pure yumminess. We were in pure desert bliss!
