Looking for a different holiday cocktail recipe? High West Distillery‘s Alta Ruby looks festive and even non-whiskey drinkers will like it. On a happy hour stop with a few friends in Park City, I decided to give the Alta Ruby a whirl, evening though I’m not typically a whiskey sipper. High West’s Double Rye is crafted with cinnamon, anise and honey. Double means its twice as spicy as regular rye.
Honestly I was curious how a double rye was going to pair with aperol, strawberry and prosecco in the cocktail. First sip and I knew I’d picked a perfect holiday drink. I wasn’t driving so it was easy to order a second one and ask for the cocktail recipe to share.
