Sips, S’mores, and Spa

My love affair with the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek began in 2010.  It was my first visit to Beaver Creek, first time I had skied in 17 years, and first time experiencing the magic of a quintessential mountain village.  I stayed at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek on that visit….and pretty much every visit to Beaver Creek since then.

I fell in love with the Park Hyatt all over again during my short stay with my best friend in June.  Of course the rooms are fabulous, but the reasons I love it range from s’mores to spa.

There’s nothing better than arriving late on a summer afternoon, sitting outside on the patio breathing in the fresh mountain air while wearing a light jacket as the sun goes down, and sipping a glass of Veuve champagne.

I also love sipping bubbles or a cocktail in the bar at 8100 Mountainside Bar & Grill.

Summer views of ultra green Beaver Creek Mountain with wildflowers sprouting is a phenomenal view to walk out to on a summer morning.  It’s also a stunning view to enjoy while diving into a hearty breakfast to fuel you for a day of adventure.

One of my favorite things on the menu is the white cheddar grits – served in a small cast iron skillet of course!  Add eggs, applewood smoked bacon, and greens and you’ve got a well rounded breakfast.

Whether staying at the Park Hyatt or another place in Beaver Creek, you definitely want to book time at the Allegria Spa.  If you can, take advantage of the healing waters of Aqua Sanitas.  This past trip I indulged with a much needed massage.  After a little time in the relaxation room, it was off to la la land as massage therapist Rhianna worked out all the kinks in my shoulders, back and quads all knotted up from traveling and hiking.  It was the best massage I’ve ever had!

Post massage, we were off to happy hour on the patio. On the summer menu is Heirloom Tomato and Mozzarella. It’s house mozzarella, basil, pine nuts, balsamic, and lemon. It’s so fresh and yummy!

During any stay at the Park Hyatt, you have to indulge in s’mores happy hour.  It oh so ooey gooey good no matter what your age!
