This is a tiny bag with a big impact. When I opened my swag backpack at Travel Goods Association TravelCon, the Cotopaxi Allpita Mini Bag became the hiking and travel essential I didn’t know I needed. It’s colorful, practical, and one-of-a-kind, so mine is as unique as the adventures it’s tagging along on.

The Allpita Mini Bag is part of the Cotopaxi’s Del Día collection, hand-designed from deadstock fabric.  It’s a zero-waste design made from high-quality leftover fabric scraps that might otherwise end up in a landfill. Cotopaxi gives factory workers total creative freedom on Del Día pieces to choose the fabric, zippers, and straps. The result is a fun surprise. No two bags are alike.

How I’m Using It

It didn’t take long to earn a permanent spot in my backpack. On my recent road trip to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, I reached for it constantly. Instead of digging around for my ID, credit card, or keys every time I stopped, my don’t lose items are neatly stashed in a colorful pouch.

The Allpita Mini Bag went straight into my backpack for recent hikes including Square Top Lakes Trail, Mount Crested Butte Trail, and Judd Falls Trail in Colorado. It’s perfect to keep my ID, credit cards, and keys together.  I fell in love with this little bag while hiking, but also realized it’s a travel essential too.

I also tested it while traveling to California for a hiking road trip through Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks all the way to Truckee. It slipped easily into both my travel daypack and hiking backpack, keeping my essentials organized whether I was on the trail, exploring a National Park Service site, or stopping for gas and food. I love gear that serves more than one purpose, and this little bag does exactly that.

My Favorite Features

The first thing you’ll notice is the bright, colorful design. Besides being fun, it’s incredibly easy to spot inside a backpack loaded with camera gear and hiking essentials.

The tiny carabiner makes it easy to clip to a backpack. The stretchy interior divider keeps my ID, credit cards, and cash securely tucked away. There’s still plenty of room for keys, lip balm, AirPods, and other small necessities.

Sometimes the smallest pieces of gear become the ones you use the most. The Cotopaxi Allpita Mini Bag has definitely earned a permanent spot in my hiking and travel kit. Think I’m going to have to order a second one so there’s always one stashed in my hiking backpack and carry-on luggage.
