When you’re planning an early start in Sequoia National Park, location is key. After a full day of hiking beneath giant sequoias, it’s nice to return somewhere that’s comfortable, quiet, and close by. Just minutes from the Ash Mountain entrance to Sequoia National Park, that’s exactly what you get staying at Sequoia Village in Three Rivers, California.
Sequoia Village is less than 1.5 hours from Fresno Yosemite International Airport. I stayed at Sequoia Village for one night before exploring Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
Cozy Rooms with Thoughtful Touches
The rooms have a cozy, homey feel. Mine featured a comfortable king bed, loveseat, mini fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and plenty of room to spread out my hiking gear. I especially enjoyed the private balcony. It’s a peaceful spot to sip coffee before heading into the park or to enjoy a sunset happy hour after a day adventuring. Outside, the courtyard with string lights, oversized oak trees, and inviting seating areas creates a relaxing atmosphere after a day on the trails.
The rooms at Sequoia Village are simple, clean, and surprisingly spacious with plenty of room to spread out your luggage and hiking gear. Bright tropical linens add cheerful pops of color, while the comfortable king bed and loveseat create a welcoming space to relax after a day adventuring. I also appreciated the fully stocked coffee bar with a Keurig, plus there’s a mini fridge and microwave, making it easy to store snacks before heading into the parks.
The bathroom is on the smaller side, but it’s fine for one or two people. I stayed in room 114 and it has a private balcony. It’s great to enjoy coffee on a cool morning or to enjoy a sunset happy hour.
Relax Around the Property
The courtyard near the lobby is a welcoming gathering space with shaded seating beneath a massive oak tree, string lights, and mountain views. Sequoia Village also has a laundry room, game room, and a small grab-and-go market when you’re craving a late-night snack or forgot to pack something.
A Great Location for Exploring
In addition to being just minutes from the Ash Mountain entrance to Sequoia National Park, Sequoia Village is close to several restaurants in Three Rivers. I arrived around 7 p.m., and every restaurant was packed. Instead, I made a quick stop about 1.5 miles away at Totem Market & Gifts, where the café and deli had fresh grab-and-go sandwiches. I also picked up breakfast and trail snacks for the next day’s adventures.
If you’re looking for a comfortable, convenient place to stay without paying resort prices, Sequoia Village is an excellent choice. It’s an ideal basecamp for exploring both Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
