Central America Getaways in Panama, Honduras, and El Salvador with Colorado Connections

If you’re dreaming of a Central America getaway, these three boutique resorts have stunning beaches and lush jungles to explore, while blending adventure and wellness. Here’s where you should surf Panama’s hidden beaches, snorkel in Roatán’s crystal-clear waters, and rejuvenate at a surf and yoga retreat in El Salvador. All three have cool Colorado connections. These places are magical, so fair warning, you may not want to go back home.

Panama: Jungle Meets Surf at Morrillo Beach Eco Resort

Nestled along Panama’s scenic Pacific coastline, Morrillo Beach Eco Resort is a haven for eco-conscious travelers craving a tropical getaway with a Colorado ski connection. Former ski patrollers Cari and Ryan, who worked at Keystone and Telluride, traded snow-capped peaks for a jungle retreat by the ocean.

Located 35 miles off the mainland of Honduras, Roatán is known for its white-sand beaches, incredible snorkeling, and laid-back island vibes. West Bay Beach is the place to be for vibrant island fun. Puerta Azul is a nine-room beachfront boutique hotel in Sandy Bay with a 400-foot dock and direct reef access. Owner Talia grew up in Boulder, bringing a touch of mountain hospitality to this oceanfront retreat.
