The rustic charm of Orchid Bay with tranquil waters, a lush tropical backdrop, and thatched-roof casitas, and friendly folks drew me back for a quick trip to ring in the 2025 in this slice of paradise in Belize. As I strolled along the wooden dock with the Caribbean breeze blowing through my hair, there was one thing I knew for sure: my Caye Caftans Jungle Party print was the perfect choice for this idyllic setting.

Jungle Party Print:
Caye Caftans are effortlessly stylish and unapologetically bold. The Jungle Party print is a whimsical celebration of wildlife with color and fun with vibrant greens, playful pinks, pops of sunshine yellow. The bold design turns heads yet the style is perfectly relaxed for a tropical getaway. It’s like it was made for days spent in a place as magical as Orchid Bay.
Caye Caftans were created by a dear friend of mine from San Antonio, Texas, who now lives in San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. The luxurious silk blend caftans are designed and handcrafted in Belize as the company employs local women as seamstresses. They’re perfect as a bathing suit coverup for lounging poolside, yet the material is thick enough the caftan can be worn as a fabulous dinner dress. Mine is the long version but they also come in a short style that’s perfect to wear with capris, jeans, or shorts. If you’re in the United States, they do ship for a minimal fee.

Escape to Orchid Bay:
If you’re dreaming of a Belize vacation that’s lesser known than San Pedro or Caye Caulker, Orchid Bay is tucked away in northern Belize. It’s less than 2 hours by car from the Belize international airport or you can catch a quick Tropic Air flight to Corozal, just 15 minutes from Orchid Bay. This is one of those places where life slows down to match the rhythm of the gentle ocean waves. Walking along that wooden dock in my caftan, I felt like I was shooting for a high fashion publication. The lightweight, flowy fabric caught the breeze just right, creating a vibe that oozed “effortless but fabulous.”
This is the kind of piece that goes from dockside strolling to sipping a frozen coconut mojito in Orchid Bay’s casual Tradewinds restaurant and still looks stunning. If you’re planning a trip to Belize, or anywhere tropical, pack one (or more!) Caye Caftans in your suitcase. They pack beautifully. I just took mine out of my carry-on and put it on paired with flip flops. No ironing required.
Slip on one of their bold but breezy designs, let the destination work its magic, and you’ll take on paradise in style.
