Banff’s Newest “Peak” is the Perfect Downtown Basecamp – Peaks Hotel and Suites

On my recent ski trip to Ski Big 3 in Banff National Park, I stayed downtown at Peaks Hotel and Suites. Banff’s newest “peak” has garnered rave reviews from guest and is currently ranked #1 hotel in Banff on Trip Advisor. The staff was super friendly as I checked in and I was really happy to utilize their underground parking for my rental car. It’s Canada and winter mornings are cold! Plus, since they get a lot of snow, including while I was there, I didn’t have to worry about cleaning off the car or warming it up.

I stayed in one of the Loft Suites. It’s two floors with the bedroom upstairs. The decor is sleek and modern with outdoor elements as accents. As I walked it, I was really impressed with the amount of storage space in the entry hall around the kitchenette including a nice bench for sitting or storing your bags off the ground. All of the suites have kitchenettes with a microwave, kettle, coffee maker, small refrigerator, and sink. Standard rooms only have a kettle, coffee maker, and small fridge. I used all of the features of the kitchenette during my stay. I also really liked the trees wallpaper in the bathroom.

The living area is spacious. Both the sofa and chair are comfy. I really liked the earthy elements of tree slice end tables and wood center table. The pillows add a pop of color and the black and white photos add an artsy feel.

As I walked upstairs, I was greeted with the cutest towel art of two puppies on the bed. The loft is also done in a minimalist style but with a bit more color in pillows and quilt. There’s a bed, television, two nightstands, and a bench. With the blackout drapes, I slept great in this super quiet room.

Peaks Hotel and Suites is in a wonderful location to explore downtown, walk to dinner or dip into a coffee shop. If you want to stay in town, I highly recommended Banff’s newest “peak.”
