Hot Spots To Stay

Affordable Riverside Accommodations in Telluride

As with any popular mountain ski resort town, finding an affordable place to stay that isn’t miles out of town can be a challenge. Mountainside Inn is along the San Miguel River on the edge of the historic downtown in Telluride. It’s less than a ten minute walk to the restaurants, shops and galleries on Colorado Avenue, Telluride’s main street. During a 3-night stay in Telluride, the price was right to stay at Mountainside Inn. It’s dubbed “Telluride’s most affordable property.” For a no-frills place that is comfortable and in a great location to easily walk to anything in town, Mountainside Inn is your place in Telluride. A big bonus for those traveling with a dog like my friends, the hotel is pet friendly.

The check-in process is a little different these days with the COVID-19 pandemic. Only one person at a time is allowed in the office. Masks are required in the office, hallways and stairwells. Hand sanitizer is available around property too.

My room was on the first floor. It has a queen bed and twin. This room could comfortably fit three people. There was a rollout in the room, so it could accommodate four. It’s spacious for one person as in my stay.

Some rooms have kitchenettes. Mine did and I put the mini-fridge to good use storing some drinks and leftover pad Thai from Siam Restaurant that I took home. The bathrooms are spacious, but showers are small.

There are a couple of other COVID-19 related things this summer. The hot tub is closed. There is no housekeeping to change your towels or make your bed during your stay, but if you need something the staff is happy to help.

The staff at Mountainside Inn is delightful and very helpful. My friends and I decided to extended our two-night stay to three nights and they quickly accommodated both rooms. If traveling with your pup or looking for no-frills, comfortable and great location in Telluride, book at Mountainside Inn.
