Mountaintop Yoga at Keystone Resort: Find Your Zen at 11,640 Feet

Take your yoga to new heights, literally. Keystone Resort is known for hiking and biking in summer, but one of its most memorable warm-weather experiences is mountaintop yoga.

As a yoga and nature lover, it’s hard to beat flowing through sun salutations surrounded by Colorado’s snowcapped peaks. The class takes place atop Dercum Mountain at 11,640 feet, where the gondola ride up is part of the adventure.

Yoga With a Rocky Mountain View

The thinner air adds an extra challenge to every breath, but the practice is typically light and approachable for a range of experience levels. You don’t have to be a seasoned yogi to enjoy it.

With sunshine overhead, clouds drifting past, and a cool mountain breeze, this is Colorado zen at its best. The views alone are worth rolling out a mat for mountaintop yoga.

What to Know Before You Go

Mountaintop yoga classes are seasonal at Keystone. Reservations are generally required, and gondola access may require an additional ticket. Mats are provided.

At nearly 12,000 feet, drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and bring a light layer. Colorado mountain weather has a habit of changing its mind.

Keystone has plenty of ways to turn the class into a full summer day, including scenic gondola rides, hiking, mountain biking, golf, and exploring River Run Village.
