One of the key pieces you need to have traveling – shoes! I’m always on the hunt for cute, functional, and comfortable shoes for travel. When it comes to shoes, I need versatility and ones that can handle the miles since it’s not unusual for me to log 5-10 miles a day exploring a city.
On a long weekend getaway to Beaver Creek, Colorado, with one of my best friends, we hit the jackpot for shoes at Colorado Footwear. One of my finds – a pair of woven slip-on sneakers by Bernie-Mev. Here’s the best part – they’re light as air and under $80!
When I bought my blue and grey Victoria sneakers, I thought these would be perfect for city exploring. Little did I know they would turn into my go-to shoes for jetting from airport to airport, an extended road trip, and even light hiking for fall foliage leaf peeping.
Here’s what makes these shoes different – the elasticized handwoven fabric is ultra-comfortable and breathable. The slip-on style of elastic laces makes for easy on and off. Forget getting stinky, sweaty feet! These shoes have antimicrobial textile sockliners. The polyurethane outer sole and memory foam-cushioned footbed make these perfect for all-day wear whether exploring a city like Seattle or a mountain leaf peeping adventure over Boreas Pass near Breckenridge, where I put mine to the test doing some light hiking above 11,000 feet in elevation.
For sizing I went up a half size, like I usually do for flats and sneakers. I’m normally a 6.5M and got the 37 (7M) in these. You can find Bernie Mev at small boutiques like I did, big retailers like Nordstrom and Dillard’s, or online retailers like Zappos, Travel Smith, and Amazon. There will be more Bernie Mev shoes in my future…think a pair of the Catwalk Flats are next!
