The Nature Trail at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas offers an easy way to enjoy the outdoors without leaving the property. The resort is about 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio, but its sprawling grounds feel far removed from the city.

A Peaceful Morning Walk
During my stay for Christy’s Hope Gala and Golf, I started a spring morning by walking the resort’s approximately one-mile nature trail.
When I explored it, the clearly marked route included both paved and mulched sections. Birds sang from the trees, leaves rustled in the breeze and occasional openings offered glimpses of the golf course.
It was more peaceful walk than serious hike, but that was exactly the point.
Texas sage, hummingbird bush and other native plants grow around the property. Keep watch for squirrels, deer and birds among the resort’s mature live oaks.
A Quick Workout Before Resort Time
The trail is an easy option for a morning walk, light jog or family outing. It also provides a little exercise before playing golf or spending the day floating along the lazy river.
Since the resort grounds have changed considerably following a major renovation, ask for the latest trail map and current access information when you check in.
In addition to renovated rooms and suites, the resort has new villas and the 2.2-acre Big Spring Lagoon. Its longtime attractions remain, including a five-acre water park, 27-hole golf course and Windflower Spa.
A quiet nature walk followed by a lazy-river float is a pretty ideal Hill Country relaxing morning at the Hyatt Hill Country. Add a visit to the spa and you have the ultimate self-care, slow down kind of day.
