Grand Hyatt Seoul is a luxurious urban retreat on the slopes of Mount Namsan. Its landscaped grounds and sweeping views create a peaceful escape, yet Itaewon, Myeongdong and central Seoul are only a short drive away.
If you want city access without sleeping in the middle of the bustle, this hotel delivers the best of both worlds.

As you walk into the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Seoul, you quickly notice the blend of east meets west in the clean lines of the decor.
Rooms With Seoul Views
Grand Hyatt Seoul currently has 615 rooms and suites. The contemporary interiors feature neutral tones, clean lines and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Ask for a higher-floor room overlooking the Han River. Watching the sunlight change across Seoul’s skyline was one of my favorite parts of the stay.
Rooms facing Mount Namsan trade the cityscape for a greener and quieter view.
Pools, Spa and Fitness
Club Olympus remains one of the hotel’s standout amenities. It includes a 24-hour fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, squash courts and tennis courts.
During winter, the outdoor area transforms into an ice-skating rink with panoramic city views. Dates vary by season.
The Spa now has nine private treatment suites inspired by a European botanical garden. It offers massages, facials and body treatments when you need a break from sightseeing.
Dining at Grand Hyatt Seoul
The hotel’s dining options have changed considerably since my original stay.
The new Terrace Kitchen serves Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Western dishes from an expansive open kitchen. Four additional restaurants line the hotel’s 322 Sowol-ro dining alley: Steak House, Teppan, Kauri and Tenkai.
J.J. Mahoney’s still provides late-night energy with live music and DJs, while Paris Bar pairs jazz with glittering views of Seoul.
The Gallery replaces the former Lobby Lounge experience as a stylish place for coffee, tea or cocktails beside floor-to-ceiling windows.
A must is coffee or tea in the Lobby Lounge. The tea menu is extensive and the tea is served the traditional way on a small wooden tray with wooden spoon and a traditional confectionery like yugwa made of rice flour and honey. Teas are an integral part of Asian cultures and revered for their medicinal benefits. Try the Red Ginseng Tea to restore energy and boost the immune system.
Is Grand Hyatt Seoul Worth It?
Grand Hyatt Seoul is a strong choice for travelers seeking a full-service luxury hotel with exceptional views, multiple restaurants and resort-style amenities.
The Mount Namsan location is quieter than staying downtown, although you may rely more on taxis or public transportation. For me, the sunrise and sunset views more than made up for being slightly removed from Seoul’s busiest districts.
