It’s always fun to escape to Boulder for a night or a weekend. It’s only 30 minutes from Denver, but there’s something about staying at the St. Julien that makes you feel like you are escaping the daily grind of regular life.
Boulder is a very walkable city and the St. Julien is right in the heart of it. There are so many fun things to do in Boulder on summer weekends. On a Saturday morning stroll through the Farmers Market, which is run by farmers and is the largest farmers market in Colorado, hike Royal Arch or hit another trail in the Flatirons, take a moment to stop and watch the street performers on Pearl Street, have brunch at Lucille’s, enjoy lunch or happy hour at West End Tavern, and indulge in a fabulous dinner at Frasca’s.
Make your home away from home at the St. Julien. It’s an oasis of serenity in downtown Boulder. Pretty hard to beat starting the day sitting on your balcony enjoying coffee and soaking in a fantastic view of the Flatiron Mountains.
St. Julien is casually elegant. Yes it is luxurious but you can be just as comfortable in your hiking clothes as dressed to the nines in the hotel.
There are 201 rooms, including 12 suites. The rooms are elegant yet comfortable. In the King Mountain or Boulder View rooms, there’s a 4 poster plush Euro top bed with Italian linens. There is always some sort of comfy chair in the rooms.
My favorite part of the bathrooms is the soaking tub. After a fun day of outdoor adventure in Boulder, a soak in the tub with the complimentary Spa at St. Julien Canyon Mist Bath Salts is sheer bliss.
In the lobby, enjoy hand-crafted cocktails and martinis, many made with local Colorado liquor, in the T-Zero Lounge. They have live music five nights a week. I think it’s a perfect spot to enjoy bubbles.
Or step outside and enjoy the sounds of the water fountain as you relax in the sunshine or decompress in a shady spot on the patio.
Two things I’m dying to experience on my next stay at St. Julien – a treatment in the spa and afternoon tea.
