Don’t just go to the beach… Ride there. 🐎🌊 With @ Don’t just go to the beach…
Ride there. 🐎🌊

With @lospadresdayrides @lospadresoutfitters you start in Summerland, winding past lemon orchards, then crossed over the 101 (yes… on horseback), before dropping down to Loon Point Beach for one of the most beautiful rides I’ve ever done.

🌅Late afternoon light
🌊Waves rolling in
🐴Sound of hooves in the sand

Rode up and down the shoreline,
then headed back the same we came.

Huge shoutout to guide @shaelisalazar! Loved chatting with her along our ride.

What a way to experience the California coast in @visitsantabarbara.💗✨

Friday afternoon reset… beach bliss included. 🌊 S Friday afternoon reset… beach bliss included. 🌊

Sneaking in a little solitude on the beach in @visitsantabarbara before the weekend energy rolls in.

Waves rolling in
Salt air, sunshine
Cliffs stretching along the coast

No schedule. No rush. Just that feeling you’ve been needing all week.

Because sometimes the best reset…is a quiet walk by the water on a Friday afternoon.

A date farm…in the Mojave Desert?! Just outside D A date farm…in the Mojave Desert?!

Just outside Death Valley, a rugged canyon drive leads to one of the most unexpected hidden gems in California. @chinaranch has lush palms, desert hikes, wildflowers, and a history that dates back to the 1880s.

But the real reward? That coffee date shake after your hike. Worth every dusty mile.

Save this for your next Death Valley adventure!
The hottest place on Earth is covered in wildflowe The hottest place on Earth is covered in wildflowers.

Death Valley National Park, one of the driest places on the planet is exploding with color right now during a rare desert Superbloom. It’s the best since 2016. The valley floor is glowing with fields of Desert Gold wildflowers.

And that’s not the only surprise. Lake Manly, an ancient lake has returned to Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level. Seeing water here once is unusual, but I’ve seen it twice in 2 years.

If seeing the Superbloom and Lake Manly are on your bucket list, go quick! Scorching temperatures this week mean both with disappear fast.

🌼 Peak valley bloom is happening now
🌼 Expect crowds for Superbloom and Spring Break
🌼 Look but don’t pick — wildflowers are protected
🌼 More flowers appear at higher elevations through June and July

Death Valley proves even the harshest landscapes can explode with life.
It’s always fun to be in studio with @deniseplante It’s always fun to be in studio with @deniseplantedenver and @jeffschroeder23. I’m often on location on @greatdaycotv so it’s a nice treat to be in-studio today chatting about spring travel.
This is one of my favorite hotels in the Rockies, This is one of my favorite hotels in the Rockies, and it comes with a “beary” good story.

Built in 1893, @thehotelcolorado is full of historic charm. The lobby alone feels like stepping back in time.

Grab a latte at Legends and hear the story about hotel maids who made a stuffed bear from cloth scraps to cheer up President Theodore Roosevelt while he was on an extended stay at Hotel Colorado and it was known as the “White House of the West.”

This time I stayed in Suite 415:
✨ Tons of natural light
✨ Spacious bedroom + separate living area
✨ Coffee bar setup
✨ One of the ONLY balconies with views over Glenwood Springs

The bathroom’s a little tight, but that’s part of the 1893 charm.

After a soaking in nearby hot springs, head to the hotel’s Polo Lounge. Order the Molly’s Gimlet named after the Titanic’s Unsinkable Molly Brown, another of the hotel’s famous guests. Don’t miss chatting with Ashley behind the bar. She’s one of my favorite bartenders anywhere.

Historic, a little quirky, and full of stories this is a stay you won’t forget.
Yes it’s been a low snow ski season in Colorado. B Yes it’s been a low snow ski season in Colorado. But a quick storm reminds you why you keep chasing it on the slopes.

@beavercreek is one of my favs because the mountain skis like a giant mushroom. It has mellow, rolling runs at the top with wide-open views that make it one of the most enjoyable places for an easy, cruisy ski day.

One minute it’s snowing sideways, the next there’s blue sky and sunshine, then back to snow again. It’s classic Colorado spring skiing!

🎿 Who else loves a good spring ski day?

Spectacular Superbloom is peaking right now in @de Spectacular Superbloom is peaking right now in @deathvalleynps. I’ve been to Death Valley multiple times and never seen it like this. There are so many flowers it’s considered a once-in-a-decade Superbloom as the result of fall and early winter rain events.

While the Desert Gold is the star of the show blanketing swaths of the valley floor, there’s also other flowers ranging in colors from white to purple.

It’s simply spectacular!

Jumping for joy at seeing Lake Manly for a second Jumping for joy at seeing Lake Manly for a second time in @deathvalleynps. The lake reappeared thanks to heavy rain events in the past few months.

It will evaporate as the temperatures rise. It’s in Badwater Basin. At 282 feet below sea level, it’s the lowest spot in North America. It’s extra special when you catch Lake Manly.

Last pic is from February 2024 after the epic Lake Manly that happened after Hurricane Hillary in fall 2023. That year it was so deep people kayaked it and it came all the way up to the boardwalk at Badwater Basin!

Checked off my 286th unit of the @nationalparkserv Checked off my 286th unit of the @nationalparkservice with a wonderful hike in @santamonicamountainsnps. I went up the Solstice Canyon Trail to see the Keller House ruins, Tropical Terrace (Robert’s House ruins), and a waterfall. Then I hike up and down Rising Sun Trail to enjoy great views of the canyon and Pacific Ocean. Loved every second of the 2.9-mile hike!

That’s a wrap on me speaking at Travel & Adventure Show this year. It was fun to share at Seattle, Washington D.C, NYC, Chicago, and L.A. shows. Topics this year were solo adventure travel and national parks, monuments, and sites.

I’m curious - what would you like to hear me speak on in 2027?

Foreigner’s 50th anniversary show @vilarpac absolutely rocked. No big band theatrics. No over-the-top production. Just four guys who sound incredible ripping through hit after hit.

As a diehard ’80s music fan, hearing songs like Cold As Ice, Jukebox Hero, and I Want to Know What Love Is live in a venue this intimate was unreal.

The secret sauce? This theater has a European horseshoe design with phenomenal acoustics, which means every guitar riff and vocal hits perfectly. It’s one of those rare venues where every seat feels close to the stage.

The night ended with fans invited up on stage, singing along as the band closed the show. Pure rock nostalgia and one of the coolest concert moments I’ve had in a long time.

If you’re heading to @beavercreek, check the Vilar lineup.
You might come for the mountain… but you’ll be surprised by the show.

If you get a chance to see @foreignerlive - DON’T miss it!🎶 Enjoy snippets of some of their hits during the 50th anniversary show. 🥰

Did you know there are 2 @nationalparkservice site Did you know there are 2 @nationalparkservice sites close to downtown Chicago? I visited both before speaking @traveladventureshow. I started @pullmannps for a look at America’s industrial past at the historic Pullman Company town where Pullman sleeper train cars were created. Afterwards, I warmed up with a latte at Pullman Club Coffee Shop to warm up on a cold, windy day in Chicago. ☕️

Next stop: Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument. The Chicago unit is Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ, still an active church and the site of teenager Emmett Till’s 1955 open-casket funeral, where Mamie Till-Mobley’s courageous decision helped spark the modern Civil Rights Movement.

That brings my National Park Service total to 285 of 433 units. Every one tells a story worth remembering.
