🌅Soaked in the view from @pieronesydney - great base camp for a Sydney stay.

Flew out for the next morning for a wild next stop in @australia

I knew the Great Barrier Reef was going to be spec

I knew the Great Barrier Reef was going to be spectacular, but didn’t know it was going to turn into one of my all-time favorite travel days. 🐠🪸✨

I spent an entire day snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef with @passionsofparadise on their Eco Discovery tour guided by marine biologist @traveling.lea. As a meteorologist, I always love the chance to learn from other scientists. We recorded our sightings including a possible box jellyfish (awaiting confirmation - slide 4) she has never seen that far out from shore. My favorites were the giant clams and blue star fish. We saw a green turtle right before we had to get back on boat. 🥰

This wasn’t just snorkeling the reef, it was understanding it. Why it matters. Why it’s fragile. Why seeing it up close changes you. Clear water, living color, and the kind of day that reminds you exactly why you explore in the first place.

If you’re going to do the reef, do it like this. 💙

Explored Mossman Gorge with @backcountryblissadventures floating the crystal clear Mossman River, getting cleansed in the smoke of a traditional welcome ceremony, and hiking in Daintree National Forest which is the oldest rainforest in the world. Ended the day with a refreshing dip in a swimming hole. What a fun excursion while staying @silkyoakslodge in @tropicalnorthqueensland.🥰

First stop in @australia was one day/night in @visitbrisbane. My goal on 1st day of any international trip is to just stay awake until 8p so spent the day walking around the city and popping in for nibbles and sips along the way while dodging some rain showers.

Here’s rundown:
☕️ Latte and avo toast @andoniscafeandbar
🚶‍♀️Walked along Brisbane River
🚤Took a ride on City Cat ferry
🛍️Explored Queen Street Mall where I made a free call to Santa on a payphone 🎅🏼😂
🤠Bought @akubraofficial (Australia’s version of Stetson) - got the Nomad straw hat
☕️Drank another coffee at Cafe Pacino🤣
🏨 Checked in @hotelxfortitudevalley (IHG property in great location) and relaxed for a bit
🍹Happy hour @felonsbrewingco overlooking the river and watched the ferries and other boats like YOT Club super yacht
🍦Got a scoop of Little Bloke gelato @gelatomessina just off lively James Street
🌇Caught sunset from rooftop pool, worked in the hotel bar surrounded by Christmas party revelers, and crashed a little after 8p fo a good night’s sleep before an early flight.

Only in Moab do you find a lone twinkling tree in the red rock desert. This is the first-ever backcountry Moab Festive Tree, tucked along the Slickrock Bike Trail in Sand Flats Recreation Area. 🎄💫

It’s silent, wild, and completely solar powered. No traffic lights, no storefront window displays - just sandstone, stars, and soft sunset glow. It’s only a short hike to the centuries old pinyon pine twinkling in the cinematic scenery of @discovermoab.

I went chasing dinosaur tracks on a chilly winter afternoon @utahraptorstatepark near @discovermoab and found so much more.

Utah’s newest state park is home to one of the largest dinosaur bone beds in North America. It’s layered with human history too as it was the Dawson Wells CCC Camp (1935–1941) and later the Moab Citizen Isolation Camp in 1943. It’s dinosaurs, Depression-era workers, and WWII history all in one stark, beautiful desert landscape.

I bounced my way down a gnarly washboard dirt road to the Willow Springs Dinosaur Tracksite to see some three-toed dinosaur footprints in slickrock.

Add Utahraptor State Park to your next Moab adventure. It’s unlike anywhere else in Utah. Oh and Utahraptors and Moabosaurus were real dinosaurs discovered here!

Yesterday I did a live TV segment for @greatdaycotv, worked on a couple of big work projects, then delighted in an unforgettable dinner with a dear friend @tavernettavail.

Today’s vibe? Slow down. Sipped coffee while enjoying the fireplace in my room, watched the snow fall like a slow-motion snow globe while typing away on assignments before wandering out for a long walk in the crisp late November air in @discovervailco.

Loved every second of gliding through a cypress cathedral and the still waters of Caddo Lake, home to one of the largest bald cypress forest in the world.

Passing by the trees that are hundreds of years old draped in Spanish moss, felt like drifting through another world. It’s eerie, enchanting, and utterly peaceful on this magical lake straddling the Texas and Louisiana wilderness.🍂✨

Last weekend I got to spend some time with 12.5 year old Nora and her humans - my dear friends @meeseolson and @carlolsonjr. While I think all dogs are special, as the grand dame of the Olson Zoo, Nora is extra special. This Bernese mountain dog stole my heart years ago and I’m so thankful for a few more snuggles and walks in the forest. Time I already treasure.

Plus, I got to do enjoy shopping, sipping, and eating my way through @gobreck - one of my favorite mountain towns - and enjoy a beautiful fall weekend.
