Staying at JW Marriott Nairobi on both ends of my Kenya safari was the perfect way to begin and end an incredible adventure. The luxury hotel in Nairobi is located about 30 minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), making it ideal for travelers arriving for or returning from safari. The staff made storing my luggage between stays a breeze, a huge convenience when traveling with safari and trek gear.
Rooms that Wow
My first stay was in room 2408, a room with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the space with natural light and sweeping city views. The modern, elegant design blends warm wood accents with marble-patterned walls, creating a contemporary African aesthetic that’s sophisticated yet inviting. The enormous freestanding soaking tub is perfect for relaxing after long travel days. Thoughtful details like dual vanities, spacious walk-in showers, and ambient lighting make the bathroom feel like a private spa.
On my return, I stayed in room 2310, equally refined with plush bedding and ample space including a cozy sitting area. Both rooms were exceptionally quiet, allowing for deep rest in the middle of Nairobi’s hustle and bustle.
Upgrade to Executive Lounge
The executive lounge is a highlight of the hotel experience, particularly during happy hour when the bites and small plates rival many high-end full-service restaurants. I took advantage of it during both stays for happy hour and breakfast. It’s a comfortable and refined space to unwind after safari, enjoy before onward travel, or catch up on work if needed. It’s worth the upgrade!
Exceptional Service
Service throughout the property is exemplary. From the warm welcome at check-in to the housekeeping team’s meticulous attention to detail, the staff consistently go above and beyond. They make guests feel cared for, especially this one who arrived on her birthday and had to deal with Ethiopian Airlines delaying her luggage for four days.
