When making my plans for my recent Durango trip, I decided to stay in an Airbnb, partly because Corrie’s condo is cozy and bright. It’s perfect for a solo traveler like me or for a couple. Plus, it’s at the intersection of East 8th Avenue and College so its just a short ten minute walk to just about anything in the downtown historic district.

If you’re heading to Durango and waiting your own space, consider this condo. There’s even a dedicated spot in the open-air garage. As soon as I opened the door, I knew I had made a great decision. It’s uber clean. The downstairs is tastefully decorated. There’s a balcony too. There’s also a half bath downstairs. An extra bathroom is always a bonus. The kitchen space is my favorite area of the condo. I was usually in the kitchen or sleeping in the bedroom and didn’t spent much time lounging in the living room as my itinerary was jam packed for the three full days I was in Durango.

The lofted bedroom is spacious. I really like the trunk at the end of the bed. I was able to put my carry-on roller suitcase on it, instead of the floor. It’s an added touch that I really appreciate.

As I found out my first night, the kitchen island is perfect for takeaway dinner from Chimayo, my favorite dinner spot in Durango, and for getting some work done throughout my trip.

I thought I would hear traffic at night, but I think the condo is just on the edge of busy downtown, that traffic pretty much dies down by 9 p.m. The bed is comfy and I was able to get great nights’ sleep. In the morning, I walked a block to Durango Joe’s, my favorite coffee shop in Durango. Try their oat milk honey bear latte. It’s my favorite! Their burritos are pretty darn delicious too.

One thing I really love about staying in an Airbnb is exploring a neighborhood. I took morning and evening walks checking out the interesting homes, including many done in a Victorian style architecture. My last evening, I did a long walk up the mesa to Fort Lewis College and was about to loop back down to the condo for a nice 3-4 mile walk at sunset.

A condo in a great neighborhood, walkable to downtown and close to an awesome coffee shop? That’s a perfect Airbnb for me! This condo runs about $100 a night, which is a great deal for a place in Durango. I would definitely stay in Corrie’s condo again.
